When time is short, your support is critical

Sonny’s mum knew something was wrong when the usually lively 22-month-old lost all his energy and appetite. She took him to their local doctor in Dalby, who said—

“I think Sonny has leukaemia.”

Sonny was rushed to Dalby Hospital where a blood test confirmed the diagnosis. He urgently needed lifesaving chemotherapy—but this could only be administered at a major hospital where his specific blood cancer type could be diagnosed. There was only one way of getting him to the Brisbane hospital in time. It was a mission for RACQ LifeFlight Rescue.

Please will you donate today and help crews respond to the most urgent emergencies?

The better prepared crews are, the faster they can act. That’s why $323,972 must be raised—by 24 December—to help fund training and equipment.

The helicopter soon arrived to transfer Sonny to hospital. The crew was equipped to continue the blood transfusion needed to keep his condition stable during the flight.

“Sonny is making a good recovery,” his mum says. “Being able to get to Brisbane in just sixty minutes, that saved his life.”

Please donate now and help crews act fast and save lives. Thank you for all your support.
