William Gamble, 1
William Gamble had only been alive for mere hours when he was airlifted by RACQ LifeFlight due to neonatal sepsis from Group B strep and a blood clot on his brain. Just over one year on from his airlift and Mum Brianna said William surprises them each day with his milestones which doctors thought he may never achieve. Will is learning to crawl and can even stand up on his own.
Nick van Dyk, 6
Six year old Nick van Dyk required urgent pediatric medical care after suffered a viral infection and previously undiagnosed blood disorder last December. He was airlifted to the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital by RACQ LifeFlight to receive treatment for his illness. Now aged seven, Nick has started Grade two and can read and write – his favourite subject is Science.
Ella Bridges, 23
Ella Bridges was airlifted by RACQ LifeFlight following a serious motor-vehicle accident on a rural property in 2013 suffering suspected spinal injuries and a broken collarbone. Five years on from her airlift, Ella – now aged 23 – has graduated from University where she studied a Bachelor of Communications and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Peace and Conflict Studies and French. She is now studying a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in the hopes of achieving her dream to join the Army as a Lawyer.
