$200,000 must be raised as soon as possible to purchase two new helicopter underwater escape training (HUET) escape simulators for the LifeFlight Training Academy.
This funding will allow crews to get on with the job at hand—saving Queensland lives, just like Aiden.
Aiden lives on North Stradbroke Island. When he cut his arm in an accident, he lost over three litres of blood. Unless he got to hospital in Brisbane fast, he could have lost his arm—or worse. An RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper was dispatched to the rescue.
Aiden’s story shows you why crews need to be best prepared for any emergency—and why your help is needed today.
Underwater escape training is most successful if the equipment used in exercises is as close to an exact replica of the real helicopter environment as possible. The two new escape simulators will closely replicate the state-of-the-art AW139 helicopters that make up the majority of RACQ LifeFlight Rescue’s fleet.
With your gift, you can make sure that crews have the skills to escape the helicopter cabin—in the very unlikely event that they need make an emergency landing on water.
Please will you give a gift today, so crews have the most up-to-date underwater escape training equipment?
